Every year, the Aviation Fair not only brings a varied aviation programme; the demonstrations on the ground are also great fun. The same will be true of this year's Aviation Fair taking place for the 26th time at the Pardubice Airport at the weekend of 28th–29th May 2016.
"The programme on the ground is very exciting every year, with many activities focusing mainly on our young visitors. One of this year's competitions for children between 3 and 15 years is the Josef František Cup military competition. Prepared by the Czechoslovak Legionnaires Community, ZeHa Studio Chrudim and TANK POWER Přelouč, it is a tribute to the heroic Czechoslovak pilots fighting in the United Kingdom during World War II. Josef František was a supreme Czech fighter pilot who left a great mark on the Battle of Britain, shooting down several aircraft. The competition will take place on both days and the winners will get certificates signed by pilots – military veterans. I am sure it will be fun for everyone," said Josef Hadinec, one of the Aviation Fair organizers.
Children will compete on a mobile ropes course, fight an almost real fight using the Battlefield Live technology, and test their strength and agility in Bungee Running. Moreover, the Gendarme Station Pardubice will present the history of gendarmerie during the war, showing historical artefacts and organizing a history quiz. The highlight of the show will be the 276th Sqdn. RAF Military History Club specialized exclusively on the Royal Air Force. Elite paratroopers from the Chrudim 43rd Paratroop Battalion will present their Land Rover Defender 130 Kajman and full military equipment that the visitors will be able to try out. There will be also an exhibition organized by the Ležáky national cultural monument.
