Besides the already announced demonstration of the historic aircrafts P-38L Lightning, B-25J Mitchell and F-4U-4 Corsair in the Red Bull colours, this year’s Aviation Fair will also feature a premiere performance of two Alpha Jets. On the weekend of 6–7 June 2015 the visitors will have the opportunity to see the first public performance of these jets flying in the Red Bull colours in the Czech Republic.
With Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets, the number of aircrafts visiting the Aviation Fair from their “home” in Salzburg increases to five, which is so far the largest attendance at air shows in the Czech Republic.
Twin-engine Dassault-Dornier Alpha Jets were developed in the late 1960s and 1970s in French-German cooperation. The first prototype took off in 1973 and five years later the first serial pieces were delivered to French and German military air forces. The aircrafts flying in the Red Bull colours come from German Luftwaffe, which had already removed this type from service. The first aircraft started flying with the present operator in 2002 and currently they are the only civilian Alpha Jets in service. “We could see the Alpha Jets at the Pardubice Airport for the first time in June 1996 when pilots from the Tours airport in France arrived for a friendly visit with four of these aircrafts, “ says Ladislav Minařík from the Aviation Fair organizing team.
Apart from two Alpha Jets, the varied, almost 5-hour program will also feature a whole range of historic and modern aircrafts.
