The 25th Aviation Fair will take place at the Pardubice Airport on 6 and 7 June 2015. Apart from other historic aircrafts, the varied, almost 5-hour program will feature unique aircrafts from World War II, all of which have their “home” in Salzburg. This Austrian city houses a collection of aircrafts flying in the colours of the well-known energy-drink manufacturer Red Bull. One of them is the legendary American twin-boom fighter aircraft P-38L Lightning, whose much awaited performance at
last year’s Aviation Fair was thwarted by a serious technical problem.
Therefore, the AF organizing team sought to invite this silver gem to Pardubice again.
“Every year our historic aircrafts have a very packed program with a number of air shows all over Europe and we have to reject many events. Unfortunately, historic aircrafts have their limits and we cannot be at several places at the same time either. Nevertheless, we wanted to include the Aviation Fair into our schedule. I have already performed several times at this air show in Pardubice and I really enjoyed the local atmosphere. I regretted not being able to come with Lightning last year, as it had technical problems shortly before the event. In the end, I performed with a four-engine aircraft DC–6 in Pardubice last year and this year I am looking forward to showing Lightning in its full splendour, ” says Raimund Riedmann, chief pilot of the Flying Bulls.
Apart from Lightning, the Aviation Fair will be visited by the American twin-engine bomber aircraft B-25J Mitchell and naval fighter
F-4U-4 Corsair. Visitors will see a performance by the whole group as well as solo demonstrations by the individual aircrafts. The show will also include a duo performance by Lightning and Corsair featuring a synchronized loop.
